I used to come here a lot when I was a teenager with my mom, younger brother, & his dad. Memories of Saturday mornings here are still fresh & why I haven't gone in so long is beyond me lol
I was craving carnitas & chilaquiles so I only thought of one place to fulfill that craving... Mi Casa.
I ordered kinda late in the day on a Sunday. After sleeping in, cleaning, & getting dressed I made a call for pick up around 2:30.
A young woman answered and I was pleased to hear that even over the phone, she was extremely helpful! She repeated my order to me and said it would be ready in a bit so I got in the car and took my time driving down there since I live fairly close by.
Here's the rundown;
Tacos de carnitas & cuernitos-They come in a regular sized tortilla, no small tortillas here and are cooked to perfection. They're fresh too, you can tell they really do make carnitas everyday. It's like you're eating your own family's recipe. This is why I'm assuming they're called Mi Casa my husband is from Michoacán and he knows great carnitas, he loves these!
Tostada de Camarón-Lemony/Limey with cold avocado sliced pretty over the top on a tostada that's stacked high it even comes with little tortilla chips on the side to scoop up and eat whatever falls off the side of your tostada. Little bro demolished it lol
Chilaquiles verdes- They come with red onions, queso fresco sprinkled over and melted and sliced avocado on top. They're not spicy but definitely pack a lot of flavor & have eggs scrambled in. How many eggs? I'm not sure, but totally enough to fill you up along with the rice and beans that accompany it. I'm more of a rice person, but I'm almost positive they use the manteca from the carnitas to retry these beans and here I am scooping beans with tortilla chips enjoying every bite lol don't be surprised if you order this & end up leaving the plate clean haha
Salsa verde and roja are both great, I eat a lot of Chile so I can't help you on the mildness or lack there of. Trust me and just eat it, you'll love it lol
When I picked up my order the same girl from the phone was there. She had everything ready except the tostada because she didn't want them to make it until I got there to avoid it getting soggy before we could eat it. How sweet is she?! with food & customer service like this why would you go anywhere else? Thanks Mi Casa! -

Drove past this establishment several times. Many times! Looked up on Yelp to see what they had to offer. Finally, decided to check out the place and try the chilaquiles, the rice, beans and salsa. Green salsa chilaquiles, yes please! I finally found an authentic Mexican restaurant! Beans creamy, a nutty flavor so good. Reminds me of family times during the holiday's. Chips, salsa, check... If you like beer they have it all nice and cold to go with your food.
The owners are cordial, friendly, fun, helpful. This is a special gem. A needle in a haystack. -

I'm definitely coming back!! I never ever order carnitas because they're usually dry and flavorless but that was not the case at Mi Casa!!
I came in for second lunch, so I requested a kid's menu item, one carnitas hard shell taco with rice and beans ($6.06 including tax). The carnitas filled over half the taco shell, and the meat was super tender, fatty and juicy.
My coworker got a carnitas burrito and he had the option of making it even juicier with buche (stomach) and chicharons!! I'm coming back next time for that!!
Mi Casa even has a habanero sauce so if you're looking for an extra kick, make sure to ask for some!! -

Best Mexican spot in Pasadena! Not too expensive, and they DO accept card despite what yelp says. Rice and beans were as good as it is in texas. Chile Relleno and cheese enchiladas were delicious. Coming back for sure.

A great mom and pop Mexican restaurant in the Pasadena area! There's a small lot and plenty of street parking in the area. Mi Casa really deserves 5 stars for their warm and sincere service.
I ordered the Carne Asada and Carnitas tacos! All super delicious! $1.75 for each taco which definitely is a STEAL for this area and since it's a sit down restaurant.
Can't wait to come back and try some of their other food!
